SAP Enterprise Structure Changes for Aviation Manufacturer
SAP Enterprise Structure Changes for Aviation Manufacturer
Blog Article
A specialist consultancy has commenced a latest collaboration with a leading manufacturer of ejection seats and aviation safety equipment. This initiative is designed to enhance operational efficiency and future-proof its operations through changes to its SAP enterprise structure and additional SAP improvements.
The consultancy has already completed several projects for this customer, including the deployment of the PreBilt™ solution. This implementation substantially enhanced operational visibility, minimised manual processes, and simplified operations for personnel.
Transition to SAP S/4HANA
As part of its digital progression, the manufacturer is migrating from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, opting for a brownfield implementation. This approach required a review of the existing enterprise structure, which had remained static with one plant and one warehouse, even though the company is active across three UK sites.
In early 2024, the consultancy was appointed to undertake a feasibility study and provide tailored recommendations in accordance with SAP best practices. The proposal included the completion of the S/4HANA upgrade prior to making a revised enterprise structure, suggesting the adoption of two plants and three warehouses.
Upcoming Implementation Phase
With the S/4HANA upgrade in the final stages, the customer is now proceeding with the recommended enterprise structure changes. Additional system modifications identified during requirements gathering are also set for implementation. These include enhancements of PreBilt and modifications to SAP to support inter-site stock transfers and Available to Promise (ATP) functionality.
